Xpedite Stormwater & Drainage conducted a full stormwater drainage inspection, including CCTV investigation of the existing underground network. During this process, we identified two previously unrecorded easements running through the property. These historical pipelines had been installed many years prior to fill in a former grass swale and were not documented in available records.

Scope of Works

Investigation

CCTV confirmed that the existing 300mm terracotta stormwater pipeline within the easement was broken and structurally failed, preventing adequate discharge during rain events.

Rectification Works

• Removal and replacement of the failed 300mm terracotta pipeline
• Installation of new 300mm PVC stormwater discharge lines
• Retention of existing asbestos-cement pipeline in situ (undisturbed and clearly marked)
• Installation of a 600/900/900 precast concrete overflow pit to manage high-volume storm events
• Installation of 150mm PVC provision line for future retaining wall drainage
• Connection to the council easement discharge point
• Full bedding, backfilling, testing and commissioning in accordance with AS/NZS 3500.3

Outcome

The upgraded stormwater system restored compliant site drainage capacity, eliminated large-scale flooding during rainfall, and allowed the builder to safely recommence construction.
